POSTER REVIEWS
AFV
MODELLER Issue 34
What I especially like about these sets of posters and what
sets them apart I think is firstly
the
high quality of the print which is incredibly fine and probably better than
on the original
posters and secondly the paper they are printed on. The paper has a perfectly
matt finish as
does the print and the paper is thin enough for a realistic finished effect.
The quality is
simply stunning and the choice of posters is huge with each set containing
two different
sheets with an average of 70 individual posters.

New
to us are these very nice poster sets from Enygma.
Each set contains two A5 sheets jammed full of beautifully printed period
posters.
I love stuff like this as they are great for adding interest to an empty corner
of a diorama
or blank wall. I think products as good as this offer superb value for money
and will last for ages.

Graphics produced a series of 1:35 scale posters
which I first mentioned in the column
a few months ago and I'm pleased to tell you about some additional sets in
their range, all of
which are now available. The first set is not actually posters, but WWII US
Army Medical Boxes
of which they make two sets and the one I have is Set Number 2. It is printed
on brown 'cardboard'
colour card and you cut them out, fold and glue the tabs. Because you put
them together in this
way they can of course be closed up as a vehicle load, or just as easily be
left opened, which
gives you the chance to set up a lorry load which has been abandoned or knocked
out, and then
rifled through by 'looters' looking for some suitable booty. There are 14
boxes on each of the
two sheets that come in the pack, so a total of 28 gives a good opportunity
for a lorry load,
or to spread round in small numbers of a number of dioramas.
As for their posters, the one set I thought was particularly useful and unusual
was for
Italian Political and Advertising Posters. For anyone wishing to make a diorama
of the Italian
campaign, which does tend to get overshadowed by models from NW Europe, then
these make
a useful addition to your stock of accessories. Clearly you won't use too
many in one setting,
or at least I assume so, so there will be enough here to keep you going for
some time. Very
cleanly printed in full colour onto white card, there are again two sheets
of posters in the
pack. Having said these are primarily for 1:35 scale, rather than smaller
scale modellers,
with both 1:48 and 1:72 in mind, then the bottom row of each sheet has a row
of smaller
versions of the main posters. Whether you want product advertising, political
propaganda
or support for the Italian armed forces, there are lots of alternatives in
here.
What look to be the smallest posters on the sheets of course
provide what would be large wall posters for the smaller scale modellers
